Welcome to the Wolfson College Art Society
Website!

Funded by WCSA (Wolfson College
Students' Association), the Art Society is open to all Wolfson College Members.
We meet once a week to paint, draw and generally have fun trying out new materials and improving our artistic skills. The society provides the chance for people of all abilities
(that means you too, beginners!!) to enjoy creating artwork in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. All equipment is provided and
what you make is up to you! We currently have oil paints, acrylics,
watercolours, pastels and charcoal. Where possible, we
also look to run courses covering different artistic techniques and trips to local
galleries. For the past two years, Hiro Omori has led a series of oil painting
classes at the end of Lent Term.
The Art Society has held very successful exhibitions
in College during Easter Term for several years - check out the relevant links!
There's no pressure to submit work into the exhibition, but it's a great place
to start if you've never put your art on public display before. We're planning to hold another exhibition in
2008.
The Art Society meetings are every
Sunday (during full term and most of the holidays), from 1pm to 3pm in the Seminar Room at Wolfson College. There's no
commitment to attend every session. It's free and lots of fun, so why not come
along?!
If you would like to join the Art Society,
please add your e-mail address to the mailing
list and you will receive regular details about our meetings. Or if you have
any queries, feel free to drop me an e-mail. Meanwhile, I hope you find this site
interesting and if you think of any ways to improve it let me know!
